I laid out the story of redemption in all its beauty as tears came to my eyes. I waited in eager expectation for my audience to marvel and embrace the irresistible grace offered to them. After a moment of silence, I was brought back to reality as my three year old says, “Mommy, watch me- Rrrrribit! Rrrribit!

Maybe we aren’t always answered by a frog, but whether we’re parents, teachers, pastors, writers, or friends, we’re all tempted to believe our words don’t matter.  It could be a conversation with a friend that you were sure was going to go differently, or maybe it’s the Sunday school lesson you prepare each week only to be left wondering if it will sink in. Discouragement overtakes us as we wait and wonder if God is actually using any of our words…
